Start work

Immediatly after a simple lunch we started to roll up our sleves and proceed to the work site.. I can't imagine, they are so poor that everything is MANUAL.. no machinery at all.. some of the workers are like us, volunteers, some were paid workers, but of course they won't be highly paid. The guys started to cover the buddha statue with canvas and making steps for easy access and climbing. The statue is abt 2 storey high that we need to make a platform before we can climb up and paint it in Gold colours.. there only 1 statue which will be place in the middle of the temple, it's huge... the weather was horrible, 38 degree.. all of us were sweating like hell. My job is the easiest, all i do is distributing sweet and goodies to the children around there, I can see the joy and happiness in them, it;s only 2pkts of chips and some jelly, choc and sweet for them, but they are so grateful and they really appreciate. They are juz so simple! Never have i enjoy giving out sweet so much.. It's so nice so see them so happy. My other duty is giving out mineral water to the people working and taking picture. Of course i cook also. It's the 1st time going to the wet market, 6am! there are huge varieties of veggie, but the meat there was surrounded by flies... scaryyyyyyyy, but still have to buy, all i do was wash it with lots of salt water!!!Oh ya, the you cha kueh there was in mini size.. very small, i can easily eat 6-7 pcs, there is lots of weird weird meat, whihc I DARE NOT TRY AT ALL!!!
