Cheap CID Officer

I was praying hard that man whom we did the repair work of his house will come forward and settle the payment. It's been more than 2 weeks and we have no news from that person - that so call "friend" from the temple. And finally last week he called, asking to meet at the temple, fine, it's hard earned money, of course we will go down. Yet, he didn't turn up, reason= wife drove his car!  He say he will transfer the money, ok better than nothing, i gave my a/c no.  
 
Then the next day, he called, he say he had transferred -  Part of it, the rest he will settle with Ray the next round (when? dunno? maybe wait till his 2 daughter marries off, mind you they are 10yrs old) After reading guess you will start wondering how BIG can the amount be? Read with you eye wide opened - S$500-00. Yes, it's 500 bucks, not 50,000-00! And this is not just anybody, he is someone who drove a big car (lexus) who stays in a executive apartment upgrading to Condo soon! This is shame of HIM. I thought he is different, so when he needs help, we were ready to do so, yet! Maybe to some of you out there, S$500 is just a small amount, but no matter if it's 50 or 500, it's a matter of principles. Work Completed,you are satisfied,you got your house sold, so Pay up!
 
This is so disappointing! I started to wonder if we are BLIND! Why get disappointed by our so-call friends again and again... Hello, I don't care what impression all of you have on Contractors, maybe for others, they earn big bucks, but not for my Mr Goh at home. He takes all of them as friends, to the extent that all of them meant so much to him, but why is it that those people are so ungrateful, making use of him again and again! Hurting him Again and Again! He don't deserve to be treated this way. If you are not sincere, stay away from us, we are happier that way.    
 
I wished I could be more forgiving, but look at all those people out there, they are incorrigible! They are a bunch of rubbish! Poor CID officer! Can't even afford to come up with S$500/-, guess got to wait till he got his proceed from selling the house then we will get paid. Cheap!

Volunteer Work

Last saturday i went to thie CC to help out packing Goodies Bags for some old folks while my husband went to do some spring cleaning for a temple. Both of us were doing "Volunteer/Charity" work, but it turns out to be so DIFFERENT!
 
Let's talk about mine. Went there at 1pm, immediately we start with putting the 3kg rice into plastic bag, fold up and stack nicely in 10s. Not easy, we have to organise and place it in order. My body ACHE so badly after stacking like 200bags of rice.. this is not all, there's total of 2200 bags! Finally after the help of all the volunteers, we finished the rice in 2 hours. Then comes the packing of goodies, there are a total of 12 items to be place into the bag. And of course, hiccups during the start, I would say CHAOTIC! Maye it's becos everybody have their own ideas and everyone think they are right. But without wasting too much time, we got it in order. Again, we are talking about 2200 bags. Doreen and myself were in charge of the canned food, so it's kinda tiring too. We managed to finish in 2 hours. So in all we took about 4 hours to complete everything so that the bags can be distribute to all the needy families in Toa Payoh. Tiring but happy! Till now, my muscle still ache badly, i would say it's my mistakes, i should have do some warm up before i start with the heavy stuff. Quote what my hubby say" You ah.. ask you to carry 1kg of things, you start complaining, and now you were like carrying 100kgs.. sure muscle cramp!" hahaha.. I don't mind, cos it's the evident to show that i really work hard!
 
My hubby is supposed to help with the spring cleaning at a temple. In fact he had been busy with painting the temple on his own for the last few days. NO ONE there to help out, so when he heard that the "committee members" will be down there on Sat, he is happy cos he need them to shift the buddha statues before he can reach the wall. He is kinda disappointed becos they all arrange to be there only at 2PM. And again, as usual, he still don't see anyone at 2.30pm. Immediately when they came, he ask them to move the statues and he start with his painting. Only 3 members came, the rest are outsiders, but again, only commanders are present, nobody wants to do the dirty job. After he finished his part, he was so disappointed and he left. I guessed BUDDHAS have eyes to see, he has done his part and he did more than what he should do for the past few days.
 
See.. that's the different, those people from the Temple are incorrigible, they only do things beneficial to themselve. All craps.. while those people from the organization, everyone did the same job, so what if they were sponsors, they too help with the packing. At this "bad times" we were there to show those needy out there we care.
